I recently bought a R9 280x graphics card for gaming with a hp z400 workstation machine. I then realized that the power supply is only 475w which is not sufficient for the 280x. so I then decided to buy a new psu to meet the power requirements but did some research and found that the motherboard/psu for the z400 are proprietary and not atx standard. Will i be able to buy a new mobo and/or cpu (current one is intel xeon w3680) and use it in the case with the remaining parts? or is there a cheaper way to solve the power issue?

do you know what the psu efficiency is like? the 280x needs at least 500w so this should do the trick! thanks

so it will provide around 600w and not less like cheap psu's do? sorry im fairly new to this sort of stuff and want to make sure itll work
