New Motherboard & Existing Windows 8.1 Upgraded for Free to Windows 10 Reactiviation

I had a clean version of Windows 8.1 on my pc and still have the key. I upgraded to Windows 10 for free during the free upgrade period. My motherboard died and I replaced it. How do I transfer my old version of Windows 10 to my new motherboard?

After the fact, you'll probably have to call MS to get it activated with the new hardware.
