I had a clean version of Windows 8.1 on my pc and still have the key. I upgraded to Windows 10 for free during the free upgrade period. My motherboard died and I replaced it. How do I transfer my old version of Windows 10 to my new motherboard?

You should have read and done this before your parts died:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3164428/windows-build-1607-activation.html

After the fact, you'll probably have to call MS to get it activated with the new hardware.
