New motherboard for new processor?

Right now I have an Intel i5-6600k and I was planning on upgrading to an Intel i7-7700k. My motherboard doesn't have a model number in the settings so I was wondering if I would need to upgrade any hardware, including the motherboard, before I get the new processor. I don't want to buy something that I won't be able to use.

Most motherboards that support 6600K will support 7700k with as much as BIOS update.

I looked at the system information previously and the BaseBoard model is listed as "Not Available".

Sorry, I'm not very good with computers. I don't know what that is or how to find it.

Download, install and run. Go to Motherboard tab and see if model is listed.

That link doesn't work but after reading a bit, I found that it is a bit of a small leap in performance so I'm going to hold it off until there is a newer model. Thanks!
