New motherboard in presario 2100 laptop?

I have an old Presario laptop 2100 model 2102EA. It is very slow now and the letter o will not type. However, strange things happen with the o, sometimes it runs off on its own. If a search page is opened it goes oooooooooooooooooooooooooo all by itself. I thought it may be motherboard. The Cpu is only cleleron 1.6 GHZ i think.

Has anyone replaced the motherboard in one. It still looks well - a classic. I might put linux on it if i can get it going

One doesn't simply replace a motherboard in a laptop. Not gonna happen bud. Even if you could find a motherboard that is compatible, how is it going to fit into the exact same port holes as your current motherboard does? And buying laptop motherboards is almost impossible. You may as well buy a new laptop.

actually you can get a motherboard for it so unless you know what you are talking about don't waste my time. and don't tell me get a new one do this do that. not any of your business what i do or why i do it if you cannt answer the question stay out of it - bud

OK then, waste your money and time buying a used motherboard from ebay; I don't give a damn. Just saying that it probably isn't worth the time and risk it will require to individually replace each component to fit onto the new motherboard.
