Hi everyone I recently purchased a new motherboard and processor sabertooth 990fx r2.0 and an amd 9590 I have everything connected in what I believe to be the right places so I plugged the computer in both graphics card and motherboard lights are green all fans spin an the computer seems to be starting up but after about 10 seconds it just cuts off! Any ideas on why or how I can fix it? Thanks for the help 😀

I don't know why people keep doing this. Read the specifications for your motherboard here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/specifications/

Note where it says:
Supports CPU up to 140 W

Now read the specifications for your processor here: http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/processors/desktop/fx

Click the "Model Number Comparison" tab on tht page and note that your processor uses 220W.

That's 80W or almost 60% more than the motherboard is designed for.

that FX 9590 is an insane processor and was AMD's last-gasp effort to wring competitive performance out of their old architecture. However it uses enough power to light an entire house and generates insane amounts of heat as it does so.

You need a special motherboard that specifically has additional power circuits to use it.

I believe this list may be the correct list, but PLEASE check them to specifically state that it will either support that processor or will support processors up to 220W (or better, but there are no processors in this class that use anywhere near that amount of power).

Also, I assume (hope) that you got the model that comes with it's own liquid cooler? If not, you also need to get a heck of a cooler to cool that thing.

I bought this as part of a bundle all together with a liquid cooler so you mean to tell me these people put this together and apparently tested it and sold it to me but in actual fact the 2 things arnt compatible?
