About a week ago, I ordered 90% of all the parts that I knew I needed for a build I wanted to create. One of the few parts I did not order was the HDD. I assumed that because I had an HDD with a 64 bit OS, that I'd be able to boot up immediately and use the new build no problem.
Such a thing did not happen.
After checking/updating BIOS, I went to boot up on the HDD. At first it seemed like it was going to start up no problem, but as the "Starting Windows" animation came up, it froze and immediately restarted itself and looped in that fashion until I turned off the system.
At first I assumed that the HDD was shot, but I reinstalled it into the old system I got it from, and it booted up just fine.
Can someone explain to me what exactly is going on? I've researched this problem, and feel as if I know what the problem is, but I'd like to have the problem reevaluated.
