new motherboard old hdd

I recently bought a new motherboard Gigabyte GA-G41M combo and a new 4GB RAM to upgrade my computer. I formatted my HDD and installed win7(not OEM). After installation when it restarts for the first time it shows Boot from CD/DVD. DISK BOOT FAILURE , INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.
The processor I have is Intel core 2 duo E4300

You should first go into your BIOS and look for the boot options menu, (it is most likely that the first boot device has been set to the optical drive meaning that it is not booting from the hard drive where the Operating System is)

You then need to change the boot priority order so that the HDD is at the top of the list

Alright then, so we have ruled that out

Non bootable disc or USB in computer

Right next check all of your USB ports and make sure that there are no USB sticks in any of them and then also check your optical drive for any disks that could be interrupting the boot order

Was the Hard Drive brand new or had it been used in another computer beforehand since you said 'I formatted my HDD and installed win7(not OEM)'

The hard drive is old. The MoBo and RAM are new. I was using it another MoBo earlier

This leads me to believe that some files might have gotten left over when formatting your PC, the last option I can think of is that the Hard Drive that you used is faulty or currupted and that the best option would be to get a brand new hard drive as this will also allow you to do a fresh install on a fresh new drive

There isn't really a solution, the hard drive is most likely failing and depending on how old it is, it is recommended that you get a brand new one to be on the safe side, I have seen this problem many times
