Question New motherboard old SSD

Hello,

I'm upgrading my CPU which required a new motherboard and RAM. I understand you cannot install an old hard drive on a new motherboard because of the old drivers and what not. But my question then is how do I go about formatting my drive WITH my operating system on it so I can use it blank for the new motherboard? I have two other hard drives (HDD and SSD) but I would like to avoid formatting those since one is for files and the other has my games on it. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice day everyone.

Clean install, with the drive in the new system.

Also, assuming Windows 10...
For the OS activation, read and do this before you change any parts:
