New Motherboard, Terrible Audio Issues

I've just recently built a new PC, upgrading from an old modified HP Pavilion. My new specs are:

About audio, I am completely clueless about how audio works with motherboards, as I am only a little less than a year into PC Building. My previous computer, a modified HP Pavilion had an i5-6400T with a gtx 1050 and 450w psu from Corsair I put in. The mother was this "Hamar" motherboard

The audio on this was perfectly fine. The mic was fine and the sound output through both the front and back headphone jacks were fine.

I recycled the gpu and psu from my previous computer to be added into the new build.

Since the first day and still to this day, the mic does not work. I've checked the recording tab. When I listen to the mic, I could only hear static as feedback, and if I nudge the headphone jack, the static only gets worse. It raises the volume of the static even though I'm not raising the volume and it only keeps getting louder until I'm forced to either turn down the volume or stop listening to the mic. I know for sure this is not a headphone problem since the headphones work perfectly fine with any other device, and using another pair of earbuds or headphones causes the same result.

I know for sure this is either a software, or hardware problem. I did a fresh reinstall of Windows 10, but it changes nothing. The recording via mic is non-functional and the audio is still terribly messed up.

I recorded the audio using stereo mix to see if anyone knows whats going on. I started at volume level 20, and rose by 10 ever 10 seconds. Occasionally I paused to check out the echo in the audio.

Putting the headphone jack in the I/O back panel ports that are directly located on the motherboard had no improvement nor any worsening. Resetting the pc and reinstalling Windows 10 did not change anything, so I suspect it is the motherboard that is defective. I know, I should have gotten a higher tier board which I wish to do now because I'm betting this board is defective.

I wrote this thread to make sure that I'm correct about the motherboard being defective. Thank you if you have any tips or suggestions how to fix or whats the cause of these audio issues, I just want to be sure this isn't a problem with a solution other than to return the motherboard. Thank you for taking your time to read this and have a wonderful day ^c^

Sidenote: Will a sound card fix both the audio and mic problem? Again thanks for the responses if I get any!

How did you solve it? I'm experiencing the same issue with my new x470 build and haven't gotten anywhere searching online. I'd really appreciate a reply - thanks.
