Hello, I have questions that might sound silly to you guys. I currently have i5 3570k with Asrock z75 extreme 4 and I ordered i7 4790k with Gigabyte z97 gaming 5. Other parts will remain the same including my hard disk (HDD and SSD). I plan on reinstalling the OS but do I have to do anything to the previous OS? or when I'm installing a new OS, will the old one be erased automatically? If not, how would I delete the old OS from my SSD if it is taking up some space? O and I would like to keep my data, so formatting would not work and I have no other hard disk to back up my files. If back up is required, will backing up on the HDD be fine and after the installation is done, delete them?

Thank you

What you need to do is: backup important data on SSD to HDD. Turn off system. Unplug HDD. Boot into Windows Install, delete all Partitions on SSD, install Windows like normal. Once booted, turn off system. Replug in HDD. Boot back into SSD and put your files where you wish on the SSD. You don't have to wipe your HDD do you? Is any OS on it? Or is just files and programs files?

HDD only has files and I dont mind wiping SSD, thanks that solved my questions LOL. I was thinking it too hard it seems. how do I check if there is any os on it though? found a folder like Proframfiles (x86) which is empty.
