Hello, I just bought a new motherboard from Amazon since my old one died, I had my 2 drives set up in RAID0. My old motherboard was an Asus h97, and the new one is a Biostar tb85.

So I guess my question is, can I just plop the new drives in easily, or is there a specific method I should go about it with? Should I plan on having to recover the data?

Relatively new to PC building so I am quite concerned because all my passwords and other important information is on those drives.

The short answer is yes. Both motherboards support SATA. And if your hard drives are SATA, then yes. I put my old 1.5 TB HD from my old computer into my new computer with a new motherboard. The only difference is that my HD is a secondary HD, not a primary HD.

But... with new motherboard, you have to have to reinstall Windows if you have that HD as your primary HD. If you do not want to lose any info on your old hard drive, buy a smaller HD or SSD to reinstall Windows, then you can access your old hard drives.
