New motherboard wont load system.

Hello guys,so I wanted to upgrade my second older pc from p5gc-mx/1333 to p5ql pro.And motherboard works fine.But it wont load my system.It says hdd not found system halted and it stops there.I am asking now do I need to do new system on hdd.Ty

Is the HDD a IDE drive?

If I read this correctly you are connecting a drive from one system board to another of similar nature. If so, you may need to set the bios to boot from the correct drive as it may be a boot order thing. Also make sure the bios can see the drive.

Is the hard drive properly plugged in to the motherboard?

You may need to boot into safe mode, and then install the drivers for the new motherboard (will have to download them from a different computer).

I would try booting Windows off a USB and seeing if it boots. I had a 1TB Seagate Barracuda which wasn't recognized in my bios or device manager and I have a friend that had the same 1TB Barracuda only that his was newer, I put my main drive into his computer and it didn't work in it so if you have a barracuda its probably broken. If you went on the manufacturers website they might be able to replace it if you still have a warranty. I'm no expert but thats what i got

i take that back, i forgot that his hard drive did work in my computer but not in his which now leads me to believe there might be a problem with your motherboard or sata cables or even your power supply

Well i want but i accidently put out my power cable from panel and now when i put it it still dont want to turn pc on.I saw on manual it shows where to put it but it says something atx power needes...
