Helly everyone,

So I purchased from Newegg a new RX6600 8gb MSI MECH 2
And it performs as expected, when I game the power consuption stays at 99-100w.

However I'm having a weird problem when it comes to encode video.

Whenever I try to use Topaz Video Enhance o Smooth Video Play and I use the GPU to boost the performance of the program my UPS starts clicking, and the light of my room starts a slight flickering, according to GPU-Z the power draw when I encode is around 60 to 70W, so is a bit lower than the power draw when I game.

My pc specs are:
Ryzen 3600 stock
2x8gb DDR4 3200mhz @1.35v
MSI Mech Radeon RX 6600 8GB GDDR6 MECH 2X
1 NVME
1 SSD
1HDD 2.5"
2 HDD 3.5"
Gigabyte 550W PB550 550W 80+ bronce

So far I have tried connecting my PC directly to the outlet, using the power surge conector and back up connector in the UPS, but so far I have been unable to find the reason of the problem other than a defective card, please let me know any possible solution or any ideas.

If the card caused such issue your PC would be fried by now.
Has this happened more than once to eliminate the possibility of coincidence ?
Have you plugged the power cables into the card ?
Listed peak max. power consumption is 132W.
However, combined with the rest of the system and a lot of unknowns, I can summarize your PSU is underpowered or malfunctioning.
How old is your system ?

Thanks for you replies... here is how is going so far.

No, in my country most of the houses are not properly grounded, including mine, so I tried to make a custom ground with a 16AWG cable and a 6 inches nail going straight into the third connector of the outlet. It improved slightly, my case no longer has static.

  • I asked a friend of mine to lend me his asrock RX 6600, and the issue persisted.
  • I asked my brother to lend me his entire CPU which has a CM 550W non 80+ rated PSU and the issue persisted.
  • I tried to connect my entire pc in my brother's bedroom and no issue which by the way isn't grounded at all.

So at the end of the day the conclusion is that the wiring of my bedrom migh have problems. I just find weird it only happens when I render with the GPU consuming 70W.

I will be getting a brand new 220V with proper grounding in a couple of months to get an AC for my bedroom. I will keep you posted if I have any updates.
