New MX279H monitor troubles - is this fixable?

As you can see from these images, we've encountered a bit of a surprise with our brand new monitor, http://www.amazon.com/MX279H-27-Inch-Screen-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00B17C5KO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417796182&sr=8-1&keywords=mx279h . It seemed the perfect fit - incredibly vivid colors, great blacks, etc etc. I was happy with a slight bit of ghosting because I'm super used to it, but this?

You get the idea.

These lines etc are way, way more apparent than I thought they would ever be.

Objects that are drawn far away are so pixelated (I think that's the proper term) that if I cannot fix this, I am absolutely going to have to return the monitor. So I ask - does anyone know what's going on?

(My suspicion - could this simply be because it's a 27" monitor with a max resolution of 1920 x 1080, and is therefore unfixable...?)

those are the pixels

you are sitting too close to your monitor

its a 1080p on a 27" panel ...

get away from the display until the pixels are not visible anymore.. usualy 3-4ft

Damn...so if I want to sit this close then I really would need a higher resolution monitor wouldn't I?

yeeaahh.. but it wouldnt hurt to sit a lil bit farther..

i have a 50 inch 1080p monitor and i sit 4ft away .. i dont see the pixels and the screen is very huge.. i feel like im in the game

i havent been gaming assassins creed for some time.. i stopped at brotherhood last christmas.. finished revelations just now (under 4 hours)

will play assassins creed III tomorrow.. hopefuly

The way the ol desk is set up makes it impossible to sit 4+ feet away from it though and still be able to handle the keyboard and mouse.

See now that's worrying actually - why do I need to sit 4ft away for my 27" 1080p but you don't notice anything sitting 4 feet away from your *50* inch? Is there truly no way there could be a defect here?

i dont exactly know the science behind it , but if you sit far enough from the display untill the pixels cannot be seen..you will be ok
