New Network Adapter Isn't Picking Up New Networks

Hey there, I bought my laptop about a year ago, and it's internal wireless network adapter went kaput. I bought one of those tiny USB network adapter things off Amazon, and it's been working fine until I try and connect to a network other than my own. I've tried restarting my computer and the wifi with no results

Any help would be appreciated!
