New Nvidia graphics card ruining frame rate

Hi there. I recently replaced my old AMD radeon HD 7800 graphics card with an Nvidia 750Ti and suddenly a lot of my games are running at way lower frame rates even on medium graphics settings which I used to be able to handle fine. I'm up to date on drivers, game overlays turned off... Any advice would be appreciated- also, I know I'm supposed to post system specs, but I forget exactly which ones to post because I'm not massively tech-savvy, so please let me know if I need to post any other info:
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor, 3411 Mhz, 4 Core(s)
Running Windows 10 64-bit
10 GB RAM

You are probably experiencing driver issues. Use a program called DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove all traces of both the AMD and Nvidia drivers then reinstall the latest 750ti Drivers. If that fails to work post back here.

According to the Hierarchy chart, your new graphics card is not as fast as your old one. It's possible there are some games which prefer it, but it's not going to be as fast most the time.

Sorry, looking at the hierarchy again and I can see the Nvidia 75- Ti but I can't see the amd radeon 7800- hopefully I'm just being blind, can someone post a screenshot? (I'm not even old I'm just a dolt)

There is no such thing as a HD 7800. That is a series. You have either an HD 7850 or 7870. Both of which are higher up on the list.
