I've just acquired "The Game of Sparrow as Played in China" by Tam
Wing Kwong, published (2nd edn) in 1925 in Hong Kong (1st edn was
1922), which purports to describe the game as played by Hong Kong
Chinese.
I don't see this mentioned in anybody else's libraries, and it has a
number of slightly interesting points about it, so I'll try to write
up some notes sometime. But for now, I'll just mention that like every
other book, it describes CC rules 🙂

Thanks Julian, for that little piece of info at the end - It really saved me
to ask ;-)

Will look forward to seeing your other notes.

Beer! (It's extremely hot here in Vancouver!)

Indeed, I have never met this title nor this author. Congratulations!
Books published in China or Hong Kong are always interesting,
particularly if the author is Chinese. Which seems to be the case...
🙂

Can you let us know the publisher and the number of pages?

We are dying!

Hello Julian. Is this a 'booklet' rather than a hard bound book? If it
is a booklet, has it got a binding of thread?

Cheers

Not quite a hardbound book, but not a booklet. It has cardboard
covers, and a cloth tape spine. I haven't checked whether the pages
are sewn; I can do that tomorrow.
