[SOLVED] New Old Power Supply Question

I have a Corsair HX850 purchased back in 2013 or 2014 for a build that I never completed. It is still shrink wrapped in fact and has been sitting on shelf essentially since then. I am now possibly building a new PC and want to know if this power supply is safe to use? Do they degrade in any way over time even if unused? If it isn't safe or if it is risky to use in any way, I will dispose of it and buy a new one. This and my unused case from the same unfinished build are hopefully usable, everything else I fear is too dated to even bother assembling.

That is still a top end PSU and usable even if used. They do not degrade with time, only by wear and tear. You can definitely use it with your new build...
