New or second hand?

So, I'm pretty torn at the minute. Do i opt for something like this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/js48sY or for potentially £200 less go for a second hand pc with similar specs.
I'm mostly looking at gaming at 1080p with as high fps as poss.

Any thoughts on this build or experiences buying second hand?

Always buy new.

If your buying second hand, ask for receipts so you can know truly how old it is. Also, boards with all solid caps last a lot longer than old school electrolytic ones and so it's a better deal.

I'd say the extra money is worth the safety net of an intact manufacturer warranty and/or RMA possibility if parts are DOA.

Though what are the specs of the second-hand machine you want to buy.

Not a particular one in mind. Although i just missed out on a 3770k w/ 290x for £630 on ebay.

EBAY EH ? If you are in the USA, UPS has a bad habit of mashing computers and not paying for damages by saying you can't prove anything. Might be worth it to buy new in that case.

When you're spending this kind of money on computer components always buy new unless you can physically check the second hand components/computer before you buy. New prices are always moving anyway so the chances are you wouldn't save that much by buying used anyway and don't forget warranty is worth its weight in gold as far as computer components go so if you are spending money on used parts ensure the warranty checks out!
