I think I know the answer to this question, but I want to be sure. Does the
P4C800-E support the new Intel chips with the 1MB Level 2 Advanced Transfer
Cache on the new Intel P4 chips. Specifically I want to use this
motherboard with the Intel Pentium 4 3.20E GHz 800MHz FSB w/ 1MB (BOX) CPU.
I looked in the manual and it only stated support for the 512K cache.
Thanks.

Hello JugHead,

So you wanna install a Presc (HOT)..
These are running hot allright. Consider a computer case with a really
good ventilation and high grade PSU.

If I were you, I would go check some benchmarks; The P4C is often
the faster chip in many applications / benchmarks.
Regards.

I'm running the P4 3.0 prescott on the ASUS P4P800 SE. My idle CPU temp is
around 42C and mid 50's at load, with stock heatsink/fan. The key is to have
a nice big case with good airflow - plenty of fans. I was initially worried
about the heat output of the prescott, but in the end everything seems just
fine.

I am running a P4 3.0E (Prescott) on my P4800-E Dlx without any problems.
It worked with the original BIOS level, and of course, after I updated to
the latest.

I`m running a 3.2E and with Bios 1016 at default settings it shows as running at 2.8Ghz
This is shown as a problem by Intel here

and i have email ASUS today
