Hi everyone I have a question.

If a have a new custom built pc made but I leave out the storage ( ssd hdd ) and obviously the os can I just put my current c drive which is a samsung 2tb 960 pro ssd in to the new machine and have it boot up no problem or is there anything I have to do on top of that?

Why?
How would I do that if I don't have a physical copy of win 10 and what would happen to the data on the ssd?

Why? Because if you don’t there will be driver instabilities because of conflicts between all of your old and new parts. Maybe low FPS in games. Random blue screens or restarts.

You can download win 10 to usb for free from Microsoft website.

You need to transfer anything you want to keep to another drive.

What if I partition the ssd in to 2 drives c and d and move most of the data to the d partition then reinstall win 10 to the c part.
Is that possible?

As long as you wipe the current windows and start over then yes.

Ok so how do you wipe windows when most of the files are protected do you just format the c drive or something?

Yeah, it will give you that option during installation.
