New PC boots but then turns off and boots again

Hi there,

I just built this pc a few hours ago but I can't seem to figure out why the screen stays blank and why it does as described below.

Specs:

PSU: CM G550M
CPU: Intel Core I5 7600k
Mobo: Asrock Z170M Extreme 4
Ram: 2x 4GB Corsair vengeance 3200mhz
SSD: SanDisk 128GB
HDD: 1TB WD Blue


This is what happens.

You start the pc and it will shut down after about 10 seconds. After that it wil start up again and it will keep running for as long as i please but there just wont come anything on the screen. It stays completely blank.


Mouse and keyboard don't get any power either.

Btw, I have followed the troubleshoot guide for not booting pc after newly built over here on Tom's.

Download memtest86+ and test your ram.

Hi, The board needs a BIOS update for supporting the CPU. Can you return the board?

Thanks for the answer Alexoiu. I will probably just send the mobo back to the store indeed. Its just faulty i guess.

No problem. Buy instead a Z270 board. It supports the Kaby CPU without BIOS updates needed.
