I Finished my built (all parts brand new), everything works and is recognized in bios. (i5-7500, msi h270 gaming pro carbon, ssd 850 evo from samsung). I created a bootable usb flash drive with rufus and then tried installing win10 in UEFI mode.
After copying the data from the stick, the win10 installer performs a restart and after the reboot it shows the message INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE and restarts again...

Things i already tried:
- change sata port
- reinstall the usb flash drive (fat32, fnts, gpt, mbr)
- reset bios and enable WHQL Support for Win10

...and everytime i got bluescreened....

Does anyone have an idea what else i could try? i am really desperate 🙁

so much for easy answer. that is an odd error to get on a install.

try this:
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose command prompt
type chkdsk /f and press enter

this might not work and give an error.

the only other fix I have that works is a clean install which doesn't seem a logical answer to this question.

It could be the ssd is faulty, i would put into another PC as a storage drive and run the free version of hdtune on drive and see if its healthy.

chkdsk /f gave the output message "The type of the system is NTFS. The Drive cannot be locked. Drive cant be checked because write protected" (roughly translated from my language). Still get the bluescreen..
clean install gave the blue screen as well...

is there another way to check if the ssd is faulty, because i dont have another pc atm (only laptop)?

I just remembered i have an 2TB Hdd here, ill try to install windows on there and see what happens...

thanks for the help anyway^^

okay, now its getting scary...
just tried installing windows on the HDD - same result. Inaccesible boot drive.

as its very unlikely that both my ssd and hdd are defect, i guess the problem is something else...

Maybe some options in the bios, or my motherboard drivers?

You wouldn't have any drivers loaded at that stage.

I haven't seen this before.. I don't know if updating BIOS might help - what version are you running as there is only 1 on the web site for motherboard so you might have it already (its version 2.0) as sometimes on new boards there are bug fixes in bios.

I will ask elsewhere if they have any smart ideas :)

Did you download a new copy of the media creation tool to make installer?

i downloaded windows approx a week ago, i am running a new windows download atm (with a freshly downloaded media creation tool) and will make a new usb boot stick to see if that was the problem...

my bios version is E7A64IMS.200 ... i guess that is version 2.0?

BIOS: its hard to tell since neither codes are even close

its possible its the installer since its 1 common item apart from the motherboard. I looked on faq for motherboard, no clues. You might be best contacting their support, it might be a bios setting but you shouldn't have to change anything in there. They would also know if you have right bios.

I have asked for more help but MSI might be best choice.

found the solution. Since i got a free windows education key from my school i always tried installing win edu... So i tried installing win10 home now - no bluescreen. The upgrade from win home to edu afterwards worked fine...

i have no idea why installing win edu in the first placed caused INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE, did you ever hear of that? 😱

I've done an account here just to thank you, you don't know how much this comment helped me. I was in your same situation with windows educational , my school gave me the key but I couldn't boot the pc. Thanks a lot sir :)

Thank you Colif! Yes, this solution of using the regular (non education) version of the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool indeed worked for me. I would never have guessed that Windows 10 Education specifically was the problem. Thanks so much for the tip!
