Hello everyone! My name is Andrew and I am looking to build a new gaming PC that can run current games.

Approximate Purchase Date: Latest would be summer time but considering purchasing in the next week since I am stuck at home.

Budget Range: $1600 total after taxes/shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming with potential streaming, internet, media, home office.

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: Full PC build

Do you need to buy OS: I believe so. My current OS is Windows 10 which was upgraded from a Windows 8 key purchased for my current PC as a digital activation linked to my Microsoft account.
Please note that if you're using an OEM license of Windows, you will need a new one when buying a new motherboard.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
Open to using multiple sites for best prices as long as they accept PayPal as a payment method and do not have high shipping costs.

Location: Conyers, GA, USA

Parts Preferences: Have always been Intel/NVidia but open to AMD this time around over Intel for processor.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: All monitors are currently 1920x1080 res but would like the open to go up to 1440 gaming on my main monitor in the future.

Additional Comments: This is my second build with the previous in 2012/13 with a GPU upgrade in 2016. Looking for something to run modern games at 1080 and eventually 1440 while holding 60FPS or greater. Current games I play are World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Call of Duty (if my PC cooperates), and looking to play Escape from Tarkov and Valorant when released. Potential for streaming would be a plus.

For the PC components, I would like a case with some built in fans on RBG with a window on the side. Need a decent amount of storage, and open to whatever is the best option of SSD/HDD for my budget. I currently have a 500GB SSD and 1TB HDD and would like that at the minimum.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Previous build from 2012/13 with GPU upgrade in 2016. Having trouble running graphic games like Call of Duty and can sometimes experience severe freezing when trying to do more than one thing at a time like browsing internet while in a game.

If any clarifying questions are needed I will respond quickly.

Thanks everyone in advance for your input and suggestions.

Thanks for your response, Hellfire! Based on your feedback as well as some in another forum post, I have put together this alternate build. I changed Power supplies because of seemingly limited availability of the SeaSonic and the Corsair was another recommended that I can purchase through NewEgg. After some more research and thought, I also determined the 2060 Super should meet my needs for a few years then I can purchase a new GPU to go upgrade but still have strong performance from the rest of the PC. This also gets me closer to my target budget while allowing me to go ahead and get the additional RGB case fans.

I also had one question about compatibility notes. PCPartPicker listed the following note for both the Seasonic and...
I think you'd be able to transfer your existing Win10 license over, but I left room in the build total just in case.

The bad thing is if you buy in the summer there could be totally different hardware. The Intel 10XXX series is coming soon and so is Ryzen 4th generation. Of course everything could be delayed by the virus, but in the event that it isn't, we should have some new hardware by the end of May / early June if everything goes right.

Thanks all for your input. I'm looking to probably pull the trigger today. I guess since I'm stuck at home trying to game more my computer is struggling to run WoW and watch Twitch at the same time. I have taken pieces from multiple recommendations received and put together the following build. I am hoping that to get some input on this build and any recommended changes. I was able to expand the budget slightly in order to fit everything and should have some room to buy a new OS if I cannot transfer mine. I also intend to buy some additional fans in the future to add some cooling/RGB flare to the build. Let me know your thoughts or any tweaks you would recommend. Thanks so much!

Since gaming is one of your primary usage, the 3800x is faster and better suited for that. Keep in mind that Ryzen 3rd gen. does not have much overclocking headroom. So, you either get the faster chip and run it stock, or get the slower chip and try to push the clocks higher, in which case you will need a beefy cooler. Also, if you wanna keep thermals down, you need to get a board with good VRMs and power cycles.
Also Ryzen performs better with faster RAM. The sweet spot is 3600mhz cl16...

Added better SSD, Case, Thermal Compound and PSU(you should never cheap out on this)...

"Note:The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it."

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
