Solution
Your friend could save $200 with this build; http://pcpartpicker.com/p/H9M2Hx. They could also switch the CPU to an i7 6700 and still be within bugdet.

Why does your friend want to stick with AMD? The AM3+ platform is dead, an i5 will offer the same gaming performance and an i7 blows AMD out of the water entirely.
