Will they work together and be compatible

it will work well, but consider the AMD Ryzen 3 2200G. Its only about $5-7 more, but 400 MHz faster.

if you can afford it, get faster memory too

Ditch that PSU and get something much better - any PSU that's not a major name brand is likely to be housefire quality.

This would be an entry-level gaming system. Is that what you're aiming for?

Three additional comments:

• 
  ■ the 2200G may be faster, but you need to check on motherboard compatibiity. The new Ryzen APUs may require motherboard driver updates
  ■ a good PSU is always money well spent
  ■ is the RAM kit on the QVL (qualified vendor list) for this motherboard? If it's not, then it might still be okay, but you don't know for sure

it really is no big deal. before you even bother to put the 2200G in the motherboard, AMD will send you, free, a bottom end AM4 APU just to upgrade the BIOS, they just ask you send it back.

If i recall correctly the 2200g should work with older bioses when paired with an external gpu.
