Hi, I was recently helping my friend build his first gaming computer. He purchased everything new besides the case. The stuff he got was all new and we put everything together, but once plugged in, the computer turns on. Fans spin, motherboard lights up, go up lights up, but for some reason no display on the screen. I have tried everything and even tested his gpu in my pc build and it works fine. We plugged it into every monitor, but no display. I took out the ram, and put it in every slot to see if it would be powered, but still nothing. I even tried plugging the hdmi into the motherboard, but still nothing. Can someone help me?

Build list: amd ryzen 7 2700x, msi x370 gaming pro carbon, gtx 1070 EVGA ftw2, Corsair ddr4 3000 vengeance, Corsair rm750x psu, cooler master cosmos full tower case.

Depending how recent the motherboard is, if it's old stock but even then it's hard to know if the bios has been updated to run 2nd gen Ryzen.

If you want to keep the board, if possible, take it to a pc store and have them flash bios with a 1st gen Ryzen cpu.

Or if you want to do it yourself see short term processor loan.

Or return the motherboard for 4xx series, ie x470.
