I need help with the new build. Everything has set up fine so far. It's the MSI H170 mobo and windows 10. After installing the windows 10, I then inserted the mobo cd with drivers and installation, all the drivers are up to date within the mobo. I have it wired directly to the modem but it still will not show any existence of being connected to the Internet. Help please

Is your ISP's modem connected directly to your PC? No router???

If that is in fact the case (which would be weird), make sure your network adapter (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller) is set to get IP through DHCP, and then cycle the power on the ISP's modem so it would fetch your MAC address to issue you your WAN IP. It may take a minute or two for you to get a valid IP and DNS after you've powered on ISP's modem.
On the right side corner on the desktop does it show the network icon? Press windows key + x and select Computer Management from the dropdown menu, there go to Device Manager and check that the driver is installed for the network adapter. If this is the case check the driver cd for the driver package for the network adapter.

Did as you said. Went in: Device Manager --> Network Adapters --> Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and the Realtek is up to date. Did "Update Driver Software..." and it said the best driver software for the advice is already installed.
I also uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it with the mobo cd, still nothing. I'm wiring and unwiring the ethernet cable throughout the entire process as well, it won't read the connection. (which the modem is only 5 feet away from the tower)
