New PC build crashes when starting up games.

Build Specs:
MSI x470 Gaming Pro Motherboard
AMD Radeon RX580 Series
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Sandisk SSD
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 ddr4 3000mhz
EVGA 450 BT PSU
Crucial MX500 SSD

I tried reinstalling drivers and updating the next to latest drivers for the gpu, I can run games that aren't that demanding (Old School Runescape, Binding of Isaac) and they work great. When I try to play more demanding games (Subnautica, Warthunder) they start and almost immediately the game crashes or the whole pc crashes. I noticed in Warthunder if I turned the graphics from High to Low the game would run but if I tried to join a match it would crash as soon as it tried to render the map.

This is my first PC build and I've been trying to figure it out but that's as far as I have gotten and would greatly appreciate any help. My next thought is maybe the psu is too small? PCPartPicker said the rig would only put out a max of 285W so I thought a 450 would be fine. Thanks again in advance for any help/advice.

Update: Just opened the case up to check gpu connections. The fans aren't even spinning on the card... there's a blue light on where it's plugged into psu and connection seems good, also a red led on the mobo at the pcie slot which means that connection is good as well.

The AMD Radeon RX580 requires a 500 watt power supply according to AMD. But the fans not running.... that can cause the heat to build up than the system gets to hot and shuts down not just the game crashing.

Was the GPU on the parts list the wattage used 285 is low for a dedicated GPU.

I think pcpartpicker does not configure the power wattage used for a GPU honestly. I used it for convenience to build my win10 system and I had a
Nvidia 1050 it on the list and the wattage for the system was close to yours.

I always start with a 500 watt psu. Even if the wattage is lower on a build. Cause new gpu will need more power in the future

Installed 750w psu, still having the same problem, also did a clean install of drivers just to be safe and still the same issue

In response to your question I agree you're pushing it with that power supply. It's not just the wattage rating it's also the quality of the unit. The EVGA BT is more suited for a lower end office PC than a gaming rig.

Ah I see you replaced it and are still having issues. Ryzen can be picky about memory. Have you run memtest to check that it's stable?

Edit: I messaged another mod who has a Ryzen system. He might have some ideas I don't.

As Anort said, try running memtest overnight and see if that works. (just run memtest the way it is setup as default.)

Then if that passes, try running Prime95 with some memory specific torture testing for another 8 hours. Here are the settings to use from another fellow mod DarkBreeze:

Make sure Blend is selected, first. Then, click on "Custom". Input a value of 512k in the minimum FFT size field. Leave the maximum FFT size field at 4096k. In the "Memory to use" field you should take a look at your current memory allocation in either HWinfo or system resource monitor. Whatever "free" memory is available, input approximately 75% of that amount. So if you currently have 12GB (approximately) free out of 16GB total, you should input 9216mb (Which is 75% of 12GB) Generally speaking I usually just input half of whatever the full amount of memory is, so 8192mb if there is 16384mb total.

Do not change the time to run each FFT size. Click run and run the Custom test for 8 hours. If it passed Memtest86 and it passes 8 hours of the Custom test, the memory is 100% stable, or as close to it as you are ever likely to get. If you get errors, (and you will want to run HWinfo alongside Prime95 so you can periodically monitor each thread as Prime will not stop running just because one worker drops out, so you need to watch HWinfo to see if there are any threads not showing 100% usage which means one of the workers errored and was dropped) then you need to either change the timings, change the DRAM voltage or change the DRAM termination voltage, which should be approximately half of the full DRAM voltage.

But before you do the above, install the latest version of Prime95 and disable AVX in the config file. I can show you how to do that if you need help.

I upgraded to a evga 750 gq, I ran the memory test and nothing came up for it. I did notice in the bios that the current dram is only 2133 mhz when they're supposed to be 3000mhz, would that have anything to do with it?

I did an MFLASH of the latest bios still no luck there, downloaded prime95, I can't find the local file to disable avx though so help there would be greatly appreciated

No local file? That's weird

I think you need to try running p95 first. so quickly run P95 (whatever settings doesn't matter) for a few seconds, then close prime95 and see if local.txt appears.

Alright just finished the test with those parameters, all 12 threads came back 0 errors 0 warnings

Just built my first pc. It plays Binding of Isaac and Oldschool Runescape fine, any games that are graphically demanding that I've tried (War Thunder, Subnautica, PUBG) just crash within seconds of running. I've been trying to figure out if its hardware but after a lot of tests everything seems to be checking out. I only have crash logs from subnautica, can anyone on here look at them for me and see if they can find a problem?

I just built a new pc and it can't run a lot of games.... After running two crash reports through windows debugger the only thing that comes up in the local is what it says in the title. I have no idea what it means, I can't seem to find any fixes through google. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on this error. Thank you in advance.

If you use steam again its going to occur again. Cause stream has to fix the 2d texture issue with 3DDirect on the games you want to play.
