I just built this new PC with the parts listed. It seemed to run fine at first. For example, I can play GTA 5 Online with no issues. But, I started playing other games and the computer would just restart without any warning. I believe I have all of the current drivers installed for the GPU and CPU. I’ve been monitoring the temperatures for both and neither seem to be overheating (at least that’s what the computer says) They are typically around 45-60, lower when idle. I’m running a 2020 BIOS version and when I tried to update it with the newest version (to see if it would fix the problem), when I get to the part where it restarts, instead of restarting it just shuts down (The screen actually says “Shutting down”).
I know the RAM is recognized. Most of my settings on BIOS are on AUTO. I haven’t attempted to adjust most settings because I didn’t want to risk too much overclocking when I’m having these issues. I tried adjusting the RAM once to 3700 - And then my monitor would not recognize the computer and I had to reset it by taking out the battery and putting it back in and that at least let me use my computer again. But I still can’t play most games without the entire computer restarting.
Also, I have my fans on BIOS set to ignore because otherwise they just say N/A despite being plugged into the CPU Fan header (I read that that’s okay to do if you are using a liquid cooler - And all of my fans are working). On my liquid cooler, when I set it PWM instead of AUTO, the games work for a little longer but computer still ultimately restarts. I’ve gone through previous threads that have similar problems on this forum but I haven’t found a solution that works for me. All parts are new BTW. Anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this?
