Hi,

I am looking at building a new PC, this will be for general use: Web browsing, light photo and video editing, as well as office and other misc programs.

Here's a better combo. The CX450 is better quality than the CX450M but lacks modularity, but the pricing that this is showing is ridiculous. At least in India and the US it's $10-15 cheaper than the CXM.

The 10400 is future proof enough, 6c/12t will last you for years. If you want something even more future proof, i7-10700 is a good choice. Ryzen would be good if not for its lack of iGPU and sky high prices rn.

I would've suggested the SF450 which is expensive but a way better PSU and an actual SFX PSU. But this case is ITX mobo and ATX psu lol. Also Intel stock coolers are really bad, you might want an after market cooler for this thing

Nice options would be the Noctua NH-U12S, Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo.

Also you don't need that extra fan really.

Nice set up but for about the same price I'd go with Intel's latest (most recent) socket 1200 (Comet Lake}. btw always try to purchase your RAM in sets.

The thing is, in 2020 if you're buying a 2c/4t cpu you're actually going back in time. 4c/4t is the baseline right now, with "future proofing" only being a prospect for 6c and above CPUs. With that mobo, you might be able to upgrade to Intel Gen 11 CPU's but that's about it. That's why I recommended a costlier cpu to begin with. Another thing you could do is get an i3-10100. 4c/8t. And later maybe a couple years down the line, upgrade to a 11th gen i7 which will most likely drop in prices by then

I have taken it on board, and in light of your comments have decided that it might be best if I up the processor to an i5 (Comet Lake) and just save for another month to get the extra cash to make this system better on first build.

Just one more piece of advice. Since that case is not something as thin as a console like the Fractal Node 202, you should just get an NH-U12S or Freezer 34 esports duo. That L9i is meant for much thinner builds, and will probably be noisy given there's no direct air intake on it. Buy a 120mm tower cooler like the ones I've suggested above instead for a case like that

Check the Build I listed. Better CPU. 32GB RAM. Corsair TXM PSU. All that for same price.
Windows10 Activation is not a Must as running it without Activating is Perfectly Fine.

I want a PC that works without issue. Not activating windows seems like it would open up unforeseen issues.

The only thing a lack of W10 activation does is an annoying stupid watermark saying activate windows. And you can't change your system theme and start menu color stuff like that. No difference in function. Just the stupid watermark

You can Even Purchase Windows 10 Pro key from G2A for £ 20. At this point it can be considered Legit as all the big Tech Youtubers are accepting sites like that as Sponsors and Promoting it openly. Unless it is fine I don't see that many Famous Youtubers would have readily accepted them as Sponsors.

I was wondering if you had any reason you may have suggested the Asus over the MSI MAG B460M Mortar-Wifi?

I was wondering if you had any reason you may have suggested the Asus over the MSI MAG B460M Mortar-Wifi?

I personally had bad experience with Multiple MSI Motherboards over Past 10Yrs. So I avoid recommending MSI boards as much as possible.

And that TUF Motherboard is of Good Quality as well.

But if MSI Motherboard worked fine for you in the past then you can go for it. No problem.
