Hey everyone,
Thank you for checking out my thread and trying to help me. Im having an issue which is confusing me a little bit.
So I just built a new pc yesterday and everything went well except the video card wasnt spinning. I installed the windows 7 os and tried installing the driverd assosiated with the video card to see if it wasnt working because of the fact that there are no drivers. I tried installing the drivers but ati catalyst kept giving me a install error which I found out meant the programwasnt recognizing a video card in the pc.
I went back to the store to get a new graphics card and when I plugged it in the fans started to spin meaning it worked but after about 3 seconds the fans stop on the gpu then pick up again at max speed. Its so loud that it sounds like a jet engine. I havent tried installing any drivers for it yet because the sound is really turning me off. I built my old computer and did not come across a problem like this before with the video card.
Im really not sure what the problem is. There are 2x 6pin connectors on the video cars and I plugged 2x6 pins in there.. is it supposed to only have 1 pin connection? Is it receiving to much power?
My build is:
I5 4460 3.2ghz
MSI H97m g43
Sapphire r9 270x oc 2gb
8gb ram
Evga 600w 80+bronze psu
Im really really confused. I Really hope the video card isnt defective because I would have to return 2 video cards in 2 days, the geeks at the store might think im an idiot for not being able to plug in a card properly but honestly ive done this many times just never got an issue like this. Any help is appreciated,
Thank you all.
