[SOLVED] New PC Build - green/white lights on motherboard and nothing on the display ?

Hi. I just built my new PC.
Launched and, at first got orange light - rearranged RAM sticks and it seemingly got 'fixed'. But it still wouldn't load and is showing white/green lights.

Another thing: my old laptop died, so I transferred SSD stick into this new PC (stick has Windows11), the problem is laptop was Intel, PC is AMD.
Haven't tried bootable USB, yet.

Just hoping to load into BIOS and see what is going on. It should load into BIOS, if it doesn't detect OS, or it is incompatible, right?

Thanks! Any info that I haven't already found would be helpful.

The probability that an OS disk from a laptop will boot in a different PC is low. You should pull the disk and see if you can get to the BIOS first.

What are the specs for the new PC (make/model of all installed components)?

You do realize you should perform a full, clean installation of Windows on the new hardware instead of "recycling" a previous install on different hardware? Right?
Specs:

  • Motherboard: ROG STRIX B850-I mini ITX
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9700X
  • PSU: 650W - non-modular
  • GPU: ASUS 5060 Ti - dual fan 8GB
  • RAM: Crucial DDR5

Yes...but I read that it may still launch, but may need to be re-installed. I don't want to lose some of the files there. But I just want to know if I didn't mess up my hardware, so loading into BIOS would be already good.

Also: when I connect HDMI to motherboard's port - I had response on display (new CPU installed fTPM/PSP error), but when I attempt to use HDMI port on GPU - nothing on display. The fans on GPU are spinning.

It has booted. I removed GPU and SSD, apart from those two being missing everything looked ok.

But trying to insert GPU I see some metal part inside ...I suspect this being culprit to why I cannot push it in fully and it's not detected? White light.
Should it be there?

Your GPU has a notch where that barrier is. That should not be an issue.
Were you able to get to the BIOS ?

It's not the notch that separates, but a metal part inside the smaller part of the slot. It's in the middle of the way when I push it. Don't think it goes all the way in. :/

Yep. BIOS is ok. I know how to go from there. I think. But GPU issue is why I've been seeing that white light on motherboard, probably🙁 But I don't want to break it by pushing harder.. motherboard already bending when I do.

I can't really tell anything from that picture. I do see a shiny line. What that is? Not a clue.

That tiny line is hard metal part inside and I believe it prevents me to fully insert gpu. I have sent email to ASUS. But I highly suspect faulty.

I guess, will install windows on ssd, etc still. Even if I'll have to replace motherboard because of this.

That's supposed to be there, at least it shows in every picture i can find of this board. Are you sure the graphics card doesn't get blocked by something else? Maybe between the motherboard and the case in the back?
That metal thing i think is part of the Q release system for the GPU and maybe it requires to push a bit harder for the card to sit in the slot

Oh damn. you're right. I see it..
Maybe audio cable, then. I am sure it's going to be something ridiculous in a way. In my defense it's my first build...and a PC, not laptop. Thank you! I see hope again

All that's left to do to confirm it is to connect the screen to the GPU instead of the motherboard and see if you get a signal. But the motherboard seems to be detecting it.
Next stop getting into windows and seeing that everything works

Yes 😁😁😁 HDMI connected to GPU and screen is finally on! I'm sure I'll run into other issues along the way, but for now at least I can close the box! Thank you
