New PC build help (gaming) underperformance

I just built my first PC (specs below) and i have installed windows and all my drivers but when i go to play CSGO the computer underperforms. On my old family laptop i got almost the exact same FPS (60-90) as my new build and I dont know whats wrong? Is there a hardware issue or is it something to do with the software?

Any help would be much appreciated!


CPU- i5 4460 3.2ghz quad core
GPU- msi geforce GTX 960 gaming 2GB
Motherboard- gigabyte h97 z97P-D3
RAM- 8GB g.skill ripjaws x

Try opening up GeForce Experience and optimize CSGO.
