New PC build - monitor / video card problems

Just built my first gaming PC with the help of some tutorials. The computer started up but the monitor said no signal. Everything in the computer and the monitor are all brand new. I tested the computer with a different monitor and it still didn't work. If someone could help that'd be great.
PC specs:
AMD FX-8320 processor
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard
Asus GeForce GTX 760 graphics card

This can be due to many reasons.
check if:
1) the GTX760 is connected properly to the 6pin and the 8pin PCIE power connector from the power supply?
2) Your motherboard 4pin or 8pin ATX power is connected.
