New pc build, no display

Hello, this is my first pc build and im having a bit of trouble my Gpu display. when i boot the pc, the GPU fan runs but there's no picture. ( the other components run too )

I have the PCI-E's form the PSU in good, I made sure the GPU is in the slot corretly, I tried the PCiex4 slot didn't work, I tried removing the CMOS battery and putting it back in, didn't work. I made sure the ram was in all way, tried each ram slot..no luck.

specs:
PSU: CROSAIR CX 600W

GPU: HIS 6870 Radeon 1 gig

RAM: kingston hyper blu 4 gig ram

CPU: AMD phenom II Quad Core Prossesor X4 965

HDD: Western digital caviar 500 GB

MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3 AMD 970/SB950 AM3+ FX ATX Motherboard ( revision 1.1)

So if someone can please help me out. Thank you.
 


I don't have another pc to check the card (Im messaging you guys from my ps3)

I'm sorry but how exaclty do i boot into the system? and upgrade? i can't see anything
 


yes the Gpu is pluged into the monitor, the 8 pin power cable is not plugged in. I don't see a spot to plug it in...
 
ok i figured it out... all i had to was just take the 8 pin and fit it into the ATX...my lession
