My computer is not detecting my graphics card.

Just finished building my first PC, everything booted up great but it appears the graphics card does not show up in the device manager (the gpu is a msi twin frozr 760 or 770 I got preowned).

The fans on the gpu are working and the monitor is hooked up to the hdmi port in the gpu and that is also working, so it must not be completely broken.

However, in the device manager all I see is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter." I have tried disabling this and downloading the drivers for the msi gpu but it says that the graphics card is not detected.

I tried going into the BIOS and disabled the on-board video card, and then setting it to read PCI or PEG first. I also tried flashing the BIOS. No luck. I would try a different PCI slot but it is too big to fit in any of the others.

It's a gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0 motherboard with a AMD FX(tm)-8320 8 core, 3500 mhz CPU. The power supply is an EVGA 500 W 80 plus.

Honestly not sure what else to do. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for your help. I will try upgrading to a 600 W psu and hopefully that works.

Honestly no, not sure. I have no box or CD or instructions, and there doesn't seem to be anything on the GPU that identifies exactly what it is. From what I can tell from photos it is either a 760 or 770, and after troubleshooting this for almost a week, you're response is the best solution or reasoning for the issue I've seen yet.

Thanks for all your help! I am dumb. It was AMD not Nvidia. Appreciate your guidance, you saved me $70!
