[SOLVED] New pc build not reading graphics card

I built a pc for my brother with a gtx 970.. the pc boots and posts properly, but when i go to the display adapter properties is says Microsoft basic display adapter not gtx 970. I’m not connected to the wifi because the mobo does not support it. Is this a driver issue or what?

Looks like it is. Download the driver for your platform from nvidia on a computer that does have internet and transfer it over to this one with a thumb-drive, then install. That should fix.
