[SOLVED] New PC build on bench CPU gets extremely hot quickly

I am building a new pc with an Asus ROG Strix B360 motherboard and an Intel I-7 8700 CPU. I haven’t put it in the case yet, just in open air on my bench with a cpu fan blowing directly on the cpu. No heat sink, no cooler yet. When starting into BIOS I can watch the cpu temp rise quickly and steadily to +100c. I have two M.2 SSD installed and 4 sticks of ram. That’s all so far.

Should that quick steady rise of heat be expected? Will that be corrected when I install the water cooler or is there a problem?

You need a cooler ATTACHED/MOUNTED to CPU!

Yeah, theres your problem brother you need to install that cooler, or else your CPU temp will SKYROCKET.
