Hey guys,
My build so far; (haven't decided on motherboard, but another thread on that on the motherboard forums, £75 budget)
CPU: AMD FX8350
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80
GPU: R9 270X 4GB (Windforce)
PSU: Corsair Builder Series 600W
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB
Case: Zalman Z11
My budget for the whole computer is £655. This comes in just under.
Any advice/ Better builds? Will take anything into consideration.
Many thanks guys! :)

i5 will be better. But it is over priced and also since on getting a gpu the integrated graphics won't help u and thus its a waste. Still u can get it if u want. What I will do is get an 8320 and oc it and save money. The only difference you will notice is when playing skyrim or some games which use lower number of cores. But latest games depends more on gpu. If u are going for 1080p get a 280x 3 gb edition or a GTX 770. Also Nvidia has better driver support and is recommended by me over amd since my amd gpu got damaged within 2 years and then I got a 760. 760 is not bad but if u can get a higher end card.
I don't know if you like to "tinker" with computers. I myself just love messing with them. If you enjoy that side of computers, go with the H80i instead of the H80. The "i" makes it Corsair Link compatible. I like being able to monitor everything.....ESPECIALLY the cooling of my CPU when overclocking.

Ah, didn't realise what the i stood for. Thanks, i shall look into it 😀

One more thing......I know that you have a budget, but do consider at some point adding in a good SSD as your primary drive with the OS on it. Of all the things in recent years that have added to the overall performance of computers, the SSD takes the cake. A good model such as the Samsung 84 Evo or 840 Pro is what I have in mind. You wouldn't believe how much faster everything is with a good SSD such as one of these.

I will be upgrading it to a SSD overtime! Hopefully within a few months. At the moment it's just getting the barebones to be honest!

Very nice build! I hope you have fun.

Thanks very much!Just got told about this motherboard though, what do you guys think?

VRAM is very important in modern gaming. In BF4, my once top of the line GTX 680 Lightning has 2GB of V-RAM and it gets maxed out with only 2xMSAA. I wouldn't get anything less than 3GB if you want it to last for a while. Also, you might want to consider getting an FX8320 and just overclocking it instead. They both usually achieve the same overclocks as long as you have a decent cooler, such as the H80i. I have one myself, I love it. Then you can put that money towards a slightly better GPU, such as the R9 280 non x which was just released for only 320$! The 270x is around 280$ for the 2GB version and the R9 280 is quite a bit better than the 270x. The 270x is a 7870, the 280 is a 7950 and the 280x is a 7970.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself. I can't seem to find a website that compares a 4GB windforce 270X to anything. Bit of a let down 🙁! Thanks for your opinion! 😀

I'm just going to use a old monitor that i have lying around my house. This will be upgraded, but here it is anyway. Heh, could only find my old 40" TV. But it'll do in terms of comparing i guess. Resolution ; 1920 x 1080
