This is the build im looking at getting, could someone help me find if the power supply will support the system and i have enough connectors for everything. also the gpu im going with is a pcie 3.0 will it work on a 3.0x16 or not? Theres no errors on pcpartpicker but i just wanted to double check. Also a side question being if its possible to run sli with a gtx 760 and a 770 or 780. Since theyre in the same series i think they can but ive heard nvidia can be a little more strict on what cards can run sli with one another. Thanks buds

You need a 500W power supply for this build.
A few suggestions, from great down to good.
Seasonic G 550
Corsair TX 550
Antec HCG 520
Corsair CX 500

The last in the list is a CX series power supply.
These get a bit of bad press for using cheap capacitors.
Still better than many cheap power supplies.
Other options in the list are definitely better.

To use two cards in SLI, they must have the same GPU in both cards.
This means you can only SLI a GTX 760 with a GTX 760.
You would also need a higher rated power supply for SLI.
You have exactly the same restrictions for cross fire with AMD.

Thanks for the suggestions ill take a look at them, is there a calculator you can refrence? ive used the one on newegg and it recommended a 660w one so i just went up to the 750 for some head room.

If thinking SLI - you'll need another 760 and the PSU you have picked out will be fine with the SLI

Yeah i would probs stick with the thor😛 but i can agree with most of the things on there. i went msi because on newegg there is a game bunde for the 760 with assassins creed 4 and splinter cell black list. the ram and storage changes im cool with. but your gonna have to explain to me why i should go haswell? I figured there wouldnt be much of a change as far as performance goes since this will be mainly used for gaming and relient on the gpu. Im open to change to haswell if i can find the reason to. If you can help me with a pros and cons list that would be fantastic from what ive seen googling around and such, haswell runs hotter and cant OC as well as the 3570k. generally ive just heard haswell was a bad series and intel will stop producing new ones soon. please correct me if im wrong. thats just what ive heard.

3570K is fine, the Haswell is about 10% faster at stock, but the 3570K OCs better which helps even things out, the Haswell is still a bit better, but not really that you'll notice, could save a bit if interested and go with the Rock's Extreme 4 instead of the 6, the 4 is about the best selling Z77 mobo out there and best rated, great for gaming and business use

I agree with tradesman, haswell seems like its a good idea for people who want to future proof and all that. but the 3570k is popular for its reliability. Im not trying to run to heavy programs on this. Just play some bf4 on ultra and some other games to. If i need multi threading or some of the new features that haswell offers ill just upgrade in the future when its cheaper. ill probably keep my eyes on a 4770k, but for now i believe 3570k should hold up to the uses i want do. That just being a large variety of games like bf4 civ 5 league of legends etc. and school work.

bringing up the extreme 4 though, i was looking at getting that orginally but someone told me to just bump up to the 6. what exactly is the difference between them is a few extra bundled stuff.

Not much other than additional ports, the four handles plenty of drives, dual SLI/XFire, OCs great, handles DRAM extreme - ly well (pun intended 😉 )....originally I just grabbed mine because I could get it pre-release (same w/ my 3570K) and figured I pick up a ROG mobo later, but no need , took all I through at it (and still does (in sig)....only 'problem' ever had was the early BIOSs had the tRFC capped at 255 and for 32GB of 2133 (at the time) needed to take tRFC up to 278, worked with the Rock techies and got a BIOS update in that provided that fix, otherwise solid as, well a Rock 😉

Og and as far as future - on the 1150, Intel is still hedging, Broadwell for the Desktop may never appear, they already slipped the projection to 1st quarter of 2015 and may be dropped period, and wait for Skylake

This is what im looking at for the final build, later to be added is the second gtx 760, a msi 760 will work in sli with a evga 760 even if its like a ftw edition or whatever. right?
