Hey

Nowday I have this spec:
i7 7700 (без K)
RTX 3080 Asus tuf gaming OC
Asus PRIME B250M-PLUS
Plextor M5 Pro 128 ГБ (for OS)
WD Blue 4 ТБ (for most games)
Samsung EVO 960 500GB (for some games)
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 C16 2x8 ГБ
gigabyte gp-p750gm (80 Gold)

There is some bottlencking (as I know) processor. M/b is too old (only 5 phases), RAM is too slow

I want to build new PC with i7 10700k and I need new m/b, ram and cooling system, byt I don't know whitch is better.
Some variations:

MB (mATX only )
  • ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-G GAMING (+16 power phases, AI OC, good ASUS exp, good rating in doc / - price, only 2 4pin connectors, m2 slot under HOT 3080

https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E168131...Z490M GAMING EDGE WIFI-_-13-144-304-_-Product

  • ASUS PRIME Z490M-PLUS (+ price, good ASUS exp / - 8 phases, no heatsink on m2)
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E168131...=Asus_PRIME Z490M-PLUS-_-13-119-273-_-Product

Also I found this doc

What country are you shopping in?
What is your budget in local currency?
I see you're using newegg (USA) links, but have you checked that these parts are in stock where you're shopping?

1 - Russia
2 - if rounded up, then 80,000 rubles (1052$)
3 - yes, all parts in stock in my location

While the CPU is older than the GPU, it's still a good CPU. Are you actually having issue running things or just want to spend money on the system?
I really have some issue, more information in this thread
https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/asus-tuf-3080-oc-low-fps.3683593/#post-22185285

Yes, this fps results not terrible, but I feel that GPU must work better
I want to squeeze everything out of the system.

You might want to wait a bit longer, Intel is about to release new CPUs later in March I think.
If you need to do it now, I would say to get a decent mobo as these CPUs are very energy demanding, which means will put a lot of stress on the VRMs.
This is a good one if you are able to get it.
ASRock Z490 Extreme4 ATX LGA1200 Motherboard (Z490 Extreme4) - PCPartPicker

Progress will never stop. Last year, the 10th generation of processors came out, 11th generation will be released this year, perhaps in another year - 12th. You can wait forever, but I want to enjoy maximum performance right now =) so I still plan to take exactly 10700k, because it well in the tests and have a nice price. I can only use mATX as I pointed out in the first post. I definitely do not plan to change the size of the case. Yes, on ATX the result would be even better, but here I am ready for some small sacrifices

So, anyone have fresh thoughts about this spec?

I watched more tests yesterday and now I think this CPU really needs more power lines. So I think rog strix or msi would be better.

But, I still doubt
