New pc build : suggestions/advice welcomed

Hi,

I'm planning an upgrade in the next few weeks, and I'd love some advice on the build I have in mind. In particular, I see the 2500/2600K being hailed on lots of forums and I wonder if this is due to value for money, or some other factor? Plus, I'm havering about the gpu, 7950, 7850, 6850 are the ones I've been considering. I would prefer a Sapphire OC version of whichever card I get. Comments on RAM and SSD also welcomed. In fact, I'm open to advice about anything.

What I'm looking for from my new pc, is longevity, stability, low power consumption, low temperatures, and ability to run newest games (Guild Wars 2, Tera, etc) well. I might not bother overclocking this time (if I can resist that is).

The thing with 2500k and 2600k is that they simply are very good every way you look at them. Any of them is more CPU than most people need.
I like your build but if you're gonna use a single GPU you could get a less powerful PSU and get 16GB RAM.
Also Sapphire is awesome

Nice build, I agree with the poster above about your PSU, if you're planning on upgrading to two card down the road then stick with it.

About your RAM I'd Suggest: Corsair Vengeance Dual Channel, It's designed for OCing in mind. I use it and love it.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still a bit unsure about what, if any, advantages the 2500K/2600K would offer over the i7 3820, other than price.
