Cheapest h97 is about ~$60. I like the motherboard I have because it went down to $34.99 for sale.

But said board might need a bios update, in order to run your chip. Have you priced Microcenter's Intel combo deals? Any supporting motherboard gets the discount.

Could you do me another Partpicker with the changes you're suggesting? With the sales tax in my state the total part picker base can't go higher than $500.

You could ask Microcenter about bios support. If they can help you with that, then your combo is ok. Otherwise, just look at their 4690k combo deals, and what they would cost you with an Asrock H97 board.

I would want the i5 over an i3. I would talk to them regarding bios concerns.
