New PC Build

Looking for any input on this PC. I'm building it for a "future proof" computer, meaning I want to be able to play the newest games on at least decent settings staying around 60FPS. Also, how do you think it'll stack up for 4K around 30 FPS? And do you think I'd be better off putting in a Titan X or starting with the 980 and if it doesnt meet my standards throw in another 980 for SLI? So my main question is if there are any parts I should swap out that may run better together to get the best performance for up to 4K gaming 30FPS. I may also stream in the future, so I'd like that to be considered regarding the CPU i choose. Thank you.

The ASUS x99 Deluxe has more USB 3.0 ports, and built-in Wi-Fi.

Imo, If you're doing only gaming/streaming, get a 4790k, x99 chipsets are not really useful when gaming, but they are useful when editing due to more cores and L3 cache.

Asus Xonar's are good sound cards.

2 970s in SLI perform really close to 980s in SLI:

Thank you for all of that input. I appreciate it! Would you say an X99 build is worth? I know DDR4 memory is pointless for the most part right now, but I'm trying to build a PC that'll last awhile into the future. The X99 board you picked over the Asus I had, is there something that makes it better?

Oh, I'm also looking for a sound card. I have Astro A40's with a mixamp that uses an optical cable. Trying to find a good one that'll work with that if you have any recommendations I'd appreciate that too. Thank you again!

The x99 is very expensive right now and it makes you get like the i7 5820k (which is entry level) on top of the x99 mobo and ddr4 RAM. All of which instantly jumps up your build price with money that could be used elsewhere if you stuck with the z97 mobo. The 4790k is a great cpu for gaming as it's single core capabilities are top notch and is a lot better for gaming at less $$/effort. The 5820k is a 6 core instead of a quad core which is good for rendering/heavy multitasking. It can game too but if you aren't going to be using the extra cores it's just a waste of money. The main benefit of x99 chipset boards is that it's new gen and will have more parts coming out for it that are compatible vs the z97. But if you take care of it, it will serve you well for a long time and you won't have any problems

Alright, decided to go with a 4790K build. I do some video editing but not to the point where the X99 build would be worth it. One last question; you have the Kraken CPU cooler over the H110, does it perform better? I don't know too much about coolers.

It does, not by alot though. It's one of the best AiO coolers around.
