Hi guys,

So my DELL computer of 5 years has crashed once again with a memory issue. I have had some advice from my friend who is relatively good with computers and said to upgrade, instead of wasting money on fixing my current computer.

I am willing to upgrade my computer with a $2000 AU budget.

I want some advise to wait my friend has suggested, he will be putting it all together for me.

Below is what he is thinking:

- Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
- Toshiba 2TB 7200RPM HDD
- Kingston 240GB SSD 2.5in SSDNow V300
- Asus DRW-24D3ST OEM SATA 24X DVD-RW Black
- Corsair CS750M 750W ATX Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified, Semi-Modular Design, 1x (4+4)pin
- Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-03 Mid Tower Gaming Case RED LED
- Asus GeForce GTX 960 Strix DirectCU II OC 4GB Video Card
- Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 DDR4 2133MHz Vengeance LPX DIMM Black
- Intel 535 Series 240GB M.2 80mm SATA 6Gb/s 16nm OEM 540R/480W MB/s
- Intel Core i7 6700 Quad Core LGA 1151 3.4GHz CPU Processor
- Asus Z170-P LGA1151 ATX 4 x 288-pin DIMM, DDR4, 64GB, 4xSATA 6 Gb/s, CrossFire.

Now i am wanting to use this computer for gaming. WoT, LoL, WoW, CS e.t.c so hopefully this is the right build for me.

Like i said my budget is 2k AUD (aussie dollar).

What do you guys think?

Solution
Totally unnecessary. A single 500gb is plenty. Large files belong on the hdd. I have a 480gb with Windows, along with a couple MMO's. And still have plenty of free space. A single ssd can handle gaming and os easily. SSD do 0 for fps. They just make things load faster.

For gaming, you would be better off with an i5, and use the money saved, towards a better graphics card. Going by the tier list, the CS series PSU's are not all that great. Not sure why you would need 2 ssd either.

Ok thanks for your help.

Like I said I know little to nothing about building computers and what are good parts and what are not so any help is greatly appreciated.
