Would it work for me to take a hard drive out of a laptop and wipe it clean then use it in a gaming pc?

Not worth it get new storage components.
New gaming setup , used storage doesn't compute.

Ya if it is wiped, should work fine as long as you have an adapter if it is a 2.5 inch hdd. If it is 3.5 inch hdd, no adapter needed, if it is 2.5 in, then get a 2.5 in to 3.5 in drive bay adapter.
