Hello all: I am planning a new PC build with the ASUS ROG Strix Z690-F Gaming WiFi 6E LGA1700(Intel 12th Gen) ATX Gaming Motherboard. I plan to install 3
SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB - M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Drives, and am wondering how to choose a case that will work with this setup?
When I look at cases online they have diagrams of HDD placements that are a bit confusing, so I want to be sure
I get a good case. I was looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08C788312/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Any and all input is appreciated.

John.

A very expensive motherboard. Are you planning a lot of overclocking? DDR5 as well which will add to the costs.

If all you want is three M.2 drives, there are cheaper motherboards.

That case will work fine with most ATX motherboards. All your drives will plug directly into the motherboard. If you plan on additional 3.5" SATA hard drives or 2.5" SATA drives you have room for 2 of each. Two mount on the backside of the motherboard tray, and there are two 3.5" bays under the shelf next to the power supply.

Thanks very much for the reply. I mostly do software development and run VMs, so I really don't need the high-end gaming features, I chose that motherboard as it was "middle of the road" pricewise, and was used in a configurator for one of the online builders. For the VMs I really need as much RAM and Disks as possible. I was also thinking of teh RTX 3090 as I have 3 32" 4K monitors, but I am wide open to suggestions for teh Motherboard and video card.

RTX 3090 is nice, but only if you do something serious with it. Big claim is 24GB of VRAM, which helps with renders and pre-vis in CAD and the like. Video editing. AI and Machine Learning.

If you aren't gaming, an RTX 3050 (8GB) is sufficient to run the monitors and allow for most 3D accelerated applications to still get a decent boost. RTX3060 if you want a little more security on the VRAM side of things (12GB)
