Hey champs,

Got on my sight the following components for a new build, for now starting with the box and the most essentials and gradually changing and improving. I'd like your opinions about the following to know if they're cool, if it worth choosing some other components instead, something you don't advise by experience or knowledge, waiting for something that's being released, etc.

Motherboard - ASUS Sabertooth iX58 Skt1366
CPU - Intel Core Quad i7 960 3.2Ghz Skt1366 8Mb
GPU - ASUS ATI Radeon PCI-E HD6870 DC 1Gb GDDR5
RAM - Pack 3x 4Gb (12Gb) DDR3 Corsair CL9 Vengeance PC3-12800 (1600)
HDD - (waiting on SSD to get cheaper to get one at least between 250-320Gb)
PSU - (suggestions? got none on sight specifically to be honest)
SPU - Creative Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 PCI bulk
Box - (suggestions? got none on sight specifically to be honest)
Monitor - (haven't decided yet but would be something around 22" LED and DVI/HDMI)
Mouse - Razer Lachesis Expert multicolor (5600dpi laser)
Speakers - (suggestions? got none on sight specifically to be honest - gotta be 2.1 due to infrastructures here can't put 4.1 or higher, the back speakers i mean)

Apreciate the suggestions, critics, opinions, etc. ;)

My best regards,
Cheers

Thanks a lot for that input mjmjpfaff!

About AMD are there any comparing to i5 - i7? I've read about FX 8 core from AMD but there's no ETA on the release as far as i've read.

they are having trouble getting their clock speeds high (last i heard they couldnt break 2ghz i think) and they must still be working on that. the flagship 8 core cpu is ridiculous for gaming unless it can be clocked really high like 5ghz or more somewhat easily..... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/processor-architecture-benchmark,2974.html as you see in this article amd is a weaker cpu at the same clockspeed with one core. so bringing in 8 cores maked me think that we have another crappy amd lineup on our hands.

ivy bridge will come out early next year and with a bios flash on your motherboard it can run it. that will absolutely kill bulldozer since they can probably reach 5ghz easily with that smaller architecture.

What you guys think of these:

Motherboard ASUS skt1155 Sabertooth iP67
CPU Intel Core Quad i7 2600K 3.4Ghz skt1155 8Mb
GPU Gigabyte GeForce GTX580 1536Mb GDDR5 384bit
RAM Pack 2x4Gb (8Gb) DDR3 Corsair CL9 Vengeance PC3-12800 (1600) -> exp. 16Gb

This goes a bit over the initial budget, might wait a bit to see if the prices lower a bit, but what you think?
