Hi there! My name's Michael. I recently made the decision to look into PC building and I used a site called 'System Builder" to find a catalog of available items to choose from. I'm going for a sub-1000$ build that's easily upgrade-able and has decent warranty.

I should also note that this is going to be for medium-high end gaming.

Here's the list I compiled today using just what I heard from youtube videos:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk ATX AM4
Memory: Trident Z RGB 16gb
GPU - Radeon RX580 (8gb)
Case: PC011 Dynamic ATX EV11
Power - Supernova 83 650 W

There's no real rush for answers since I only just decided to look into this. But some advice for someone who knows only the barebones essentials about hardware would be greatly appreciated!

I had the MSI Tomahawk and now I have the Asus ROG, and the ROG is so much better it's worth the extra $30. I am not sure about that case though, I have not heard of that brand. And if you haven't heard of the brand, I would definitely not buy. If you want a sub-$1K build I would suggest something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($164.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING...

2x8gb, yes. I'm not sure about the 3000MHz, but I imagine so if you're taking that number from the newegg listing itself.

No, the Trident Z RGB 16gb comes in quite a few different speeds (2666MHz and higher, I believe). Ryzen benefits from faster memory and, while 2666MHz or lower (2400, 2133) will 'work', it's not optimal for performance.

3000-3200MHz is the sweet spot with Ryzen.

That's slightly overbudget but will give you much better hardware than the proposed build.
